TERRACE SPEEDWAY
HIT TO PASS & DEMOLITION RULES
DESCRIPTION OF CAR
Any stock front engine full-bodied passenger car allowed except for
four-cylinder cars (for safety reasons). No convertibles, jeeps, hearses
or limousines allowed. Everything must remain stock. No modifications
to the engine, suspension, chassis or other parts of the car allowed
unless specified in the rules.
BODY
b1. All glass (except windshield), headlights
and tail lights must be removed. All chrome handles, knobs, or sharp
protrudences must be removed.
b2. All upholstery except seats and front
door panels (optional) must be removed. Padding covering insides of
door is recommended.
b3. All cars must have either a factory
glass or Lexan windshield or a screen in front of the driver. No Plexiglass
allowed. Must have a vertical bar in centre of windshield

deflect hood upwards in case of accident. Must be min 1/8" thick 1"
wide steel. Two bars required if using stock windshield.
b4. Must have vertical bar or pipe, minimum
1 1/2" heavy pipe or flat steel such as a leaf spring in or on driver's
door, from door to minimum 4" above roof,

driver's protection.
b5. Stock rear view mirror on windshield
allowed. No outside mirrors.
b6. All cars must have hoods securely fastened.
No body or fender cut outs allowed except to get car mobile after crashing.
Hood must have minimum of two 6" x 12"

extinguisher access holes.
b7. Stock bumpers must be used. No trailer
hitches allowed. No electric fuel pumps allowed. Air conditioners must
be discharged. Trunk must be empty.
b8. All cars must have doors and trunk
lid securely fastened.
b9. Driver's door must be filled with cement.
It is recommended that the passenger's door be filled with cement also.
10. No reinforcing of frames allowed.
ROLL CAGE
b1. Must have
a heavy steel roll bar or single post secured between roof and floor.
Bar must be centered in car or behind driver.
b2. If an
adjustable post is used, the slip joint must be bolted together with
a minimum of 2 3/8" grade 5 bolts. Bar must have minimum 6" square
x 1/4" steel plate on each

sandwiched to floor and roof with another minimum 6" square x 1/4" steel
plate on top of roof and under floor and
be attached with a minimum of four 3/8" bolts

top and bottom.
b3. Car must
also have a spreader bar between the doors, behind the seat. It is to
be of the same construction as the roll bar and no lower
than the bottom of the seat and

higher than the top of the seat. It is recommended that the door pillars
and the roll bars be padded.
b4. It is
recommended that the spreader bar and upright roll bars be bolted or
welded together.
TIRES
b1. Must be
street legal. No studded or cut tires.
COOLING SYSTEM
b1. No cooling
system other than stock may be used.
b2. Radiators
must remain in stock location.
b3. No reinforcing
is allowed in front of radiator. No anti-freeze is to be left in the
radiator.
b4. Must have
½ gallon overflow container mounted in engine compartment.
b5. Must have
a cover over the top of the fan.
FUEL SYSTEM
Stock gas tanks must be removed from original location. A limited capacity
boat tank or approved fuel cell must be mounted securely in front of
the rear axle, or in the back seat area, centered in the car or on the
passenger's side, secured by metal straps with minimum 3/8" bolts and
covered by a metal, fire proof shield. No reserve tanks allowed. All
caps, fittings, and lines must be leak proof. No more than 6" of rubber
fuel line in one spot with a maximum of 18" throughout the entire car.
Must use steel fuel line. Must have minimum 6" hole under the tank to
allow fuel spillage to drain. Extra tank protection allowed.
NOTE: The tech crew will not tolerate improper mounted tanks. These
rules are for everyone's safety.
SAFETY
b1. It is
recommended that a driver use an approved neck brace.
b2. All cars
must have approved minimum three-point seat belts secured to frame.
Properly mounted four or five-point racing harness allowed. Four or
five-point harness

be mounted to spreader bar with minimum 7/16" bolt.
b3. Properly
mounted racing seat allowed.
b4. Must have
a properly charged, minimum 2 1/2 lb. fire extinguisher secured in proper
steel mount, within easy reach of driver.
b5. Battery
may be securely mounted to the floor in the driver's compartment provided
it is covered with rubber to prevent acid spills. Battery must be held
down

steel straps or bars and bolts.
b6. If factory
glass windshield or screen is used, both driver and passenger must wear
either approved eye protection or a helmet with full face shield.
b7. Passengers
must be seated in front seat with minimum three-point seat belt.
b8. All drivers
and pit crew must wear long-sleeved coveralls in pits and cars. Driving
suit is recommended. If not used then coveralls should be treated with
a fire

formula of 9 oz. borax, 4 oz. boric acid and 1 gallon water. Dissolved
thoroughly, dip coveralls, hang to dry. Repeat after each washing.
GENERAL
b1. Drivers
in the Hit to Pass class will accumulate points toward year-end trophies
like any other class at the Terrace Speedway.
b2. Cars must
have highly visible numbers on each door and roof. No foul language
on car. Cars with themes or cartoon characters, etc. are highly encouraged.

horns are encouraged.
b3. Cars must
be in the pits to be teched at least one hour prior to the start of
the event to be teched by Terrace Stock Car Association officials. Any
car that the
kkkiofficials
deem unsafe or not complying with the rules will be cut from the program
until thebproblem is fixed.
b4. All drivers
must be at least 16 years of age and hold a valid drivers license. No
one under 14 years is allowed in the pits. Waivers are required to be
signed by guardians

all minors under 19 years of age. This is to comply with insurance requirements.
b5. Normal
pit fees will apply to Hit-to-Pass events and are $10 per car, $15 per
driver and $10 per pit crew.
b6. A $50
car removal deposit will be required for the Demolition Derby only.
It will be refunded as long as your car is taken home with you the same
day.
b7. The following
are grounds for disqualification during Demolition Derby: Ignoring flagman's
directions, vehicle is on fire, breaching the barrier perimeter, hitting
a car in

its driver is displaying the white flag, spinning rims on track, and
hitting a competitor's door.
Items not specifically covered in the rules are to remain
stock. Any "grey areas" in the rules are to be referred to the tech
crew. If you have any doubts-ask the tech crew first!!
Any equipment that the tech crew considers exotic or not in the intent
of the rules will be considered illegal.
