GENERAL TRACK RULES
TRACK OFFICIALS
Track Officials are the Flagman, Pit Boss, Pit Runners, President and
TSCA Executive. The Flagman, Pit Boss and Pit Runners will be introduced
at the pit meeting.
The Pit Boss is in charge of all cars while in the pits. Once on the
track they are under the Flagman's direction until returning to the
pits again.
Track personnel will not be subjected to any abuse or improper language
at any time. Anyone violating this rule will have his/her car parked,
will be ejected from track property and may have their membership revoked
if deemed necessary by the Track Officials.
Track Officials reserve the right to do the following:
To enforce any rule so listed in this rule book and in the constitution
and to interpret these rules for the benefit of safety and furtherance
of a good racing program. The Executive may impose additional rules
that may be necessary for the promotion of safety and good racing.
To consolidate or modify the schedule of races if conditions warrant
doing so.
To reject any person applying for pit entry or to refund pit fees or
to eject any person whatsoever from the pit area.
In the event of rain, etc., cancellation of a race or race day will
be decided by the Track Officials.
GENERAL CONDUCT
Anyone acting in any way to the detriment of the Track, Club, or racing
in general will not be allowed on the track property.
Anyone in the pit area drinking any alcoholic beverages or using any
type of stimulating or tranquilizing drug, or who shows evidence of
having done so, will be forced to leave the premises immediately. No
alcoholic beverages to be consumed until 30 minutes after the final
race are over and they are out of their racing uniform. Violation of
this rule may lead to drivers and cars being suspended.
Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. Unsportsmanlike conduct may
result in a penalty being levied based on the severity of the infraction.
APPEALS
Decisions of the Track Officials, or interpretation of the rules pertaining
to the race procedure or scoring of positions will be considered final
and not open to argument or discussion until the completion of the day's
final race at which time an appeal may be filed.
Race procedure, scoring, suspension, and loss of points appeals must
be filed in writing within seven days of notification.
Appeal sheets will be available at the pit board. Appeals will be judged
by the Track Officials and results will be made known at the next general
meeting. Track Officials' ruling on appeal will be final and not open
to further discussion. Abuse of this appeal process will not be tolerated.
MEMBERSHIP & AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
All persons in pit area must be paid up members of the TSCA, a current
member of another recognized racing association, or authorized by Track
Officials. A $5 per race day non-voting membership will be available
(race day points still awarded but no teardown privileges). NO UNAUTHORIZED
PEOPLE ALLOWED!
Visiting or new cars must be a proven member of a recognized racing
association before they will be allowed to race. Visiting or new cars
are allowed one race meet before they must comply with TSCA rules (invitational
events exempt).
All drivers must have a driver's license or learner's license, except
for drivers under 19 years of age as explained in the "14+ Driver Rules"
section.
Members under 19 years of age must have all necessary waivers, etc.,
completed and handed in as required. No one under 14 years of age is
allowed in the pit area.
All persons in the pit area must have a pit pass (pit ribbon) displayed
in an obvious place on his/her person and have signed a liability release
form at the pit board. Drivers are responsible for all members of their
pit crew.
There will be only four people per car allowed in the pit area unless
the car has a "C" class driver in which case there may be five people
for that car.
Tow vehicles and trailers are to be parked in designated pit areas.
Only one vehicle allowed in pits per race car. Vehicles that block the
view of the track (i.e. campers, etc) will not be permitted in the pits.
Hot-lapping will not be allowed until all waivers are signed. Failure
to do so may result in all drivers of that car losing any points earned
that race day.
All drivers and pit members present are required to attend pit meeting
when called. All engines must be shut off during the pit meeting. Failure
to do so may result in loss of time-in points and starting races at
the back of the field.
Cars entering and leaving the pit area will do so only as directed and
by the designated entrance or exit. Cars entering the pit area must
proceed directly to their pit and not stop in the pit driveway.
Speeding or spinning of tires in the pit area, doing unnecessary damage
to the track, not handing the flag back to the Flagman in a sportsman-like
manner, smoking of tires in front of stands, etc., will not be tolerated
and may be considered a serious offense. Violators may have their car
parked for that race day and may be suspended from further racing.
The pit gate will only be open at certain times, with the permission
of the Pit Boss and Flagman. Any cars or persons crossing the track
unless directed to do so by the Pit Boss or Flagman may be suspended
from remaining in, or returning to the pit area. Anyone wishing to leave
the pit area before the completion of the race day must have special
permission from the Pit Boss.
When a car class has a sponsor, all cars in that class must display
in a prominent and approved style the sponsors decal, which will be
provided the Terrace Stock Car Association. Additional decals will be
