TERRACE SPEEDWAY
SAFETY & GENERAL TRACK RULES
The
following rules are VERY IMPORTANT and apply to all cars in all classes.
They must be read and understood by all drivers and pit crew.

All safety and general rules are mandatory! Failure to comply with
these rules may result in suspension.

All pit crew must wear clean one-piece coveralls or an approved
car uniform. Drivers must wear approved driving suits or Proban
or Nomex coveralls. Driving shoes, driving gloves, and neck brace
are recommended. All persons in the pit area are to remain fully
clothed at all times or may be ejected from the pit area.

CSA approved helmets are mandatory! Face shields or visors are mandatory
unless an approved windshield is used. Helmets must be securely
fastened.

Drivers will not, while on the track, have any part of their body
(i.e. head, arms, etc.) extended out of the car.

All cars having persons working under them must be securely supported
by jack stands, etc., making it impossible for the car to fall.
-
Gasoline or other flammable liquids must be in sealed, labeled containers.
-
Gas is not to be used for cleaning parts or tires.
-
No smoking while on track.
-
Approved racing window nets are mandatory. No homemade window nets
allowed. Net must be mounted with steel bars or rods and have a
quick release (i.e. seat belt buckle).

Minimum four-point (five-point recommended) racing harness seat
belts are mandatory. No homemade harnesses allowed. Belts must have
single release and be securely fastened to car. Must be approved
by tech crew. Minimum 3" wide except for submarine belt.

Car must have a steel or chain driveshaft sling or hoop installed
behind front u-joint and within the front 1/3 of driveshaft to keep
shaft off track in case of breakage.

Must have a minimum 2½ lb. ABC type fire extinguisher, mounted in
approved steel mount, within easy reach of driver when belted in.

Must have tow chains or cables fastened to front and rear of car
within easy reach of tow truck operator.

Car numbers must be at least 18" in height and on both doors and
roof of car. They must be of a contrasting color so as to be easily
seen by the lap counters. Any car class can use one, two or three
digit numbers. No two cars in one class can have the same number.
The numbers which may never be used are 003,03, 3, 9, 37, 89,
717 and 718.

Tech
Inspections
a) All cars must be inspected by the tech crew and if passing
all rules will receive a safety sticker which must be places on
the top of the driver's side front windshield post. Those not
meeting safety rules will be given a list of items to be completed
by the next race day. If safety items are not complete and are
deemed to be serious by the tech crew, the car will not be allowed
on the track until they are fixed.
b) 25 bonus points are available for having your car teched early.
Tech appointments are to be scheduled before Wednesday prior to
the first race day of the season (i.e. Mother's Day). The tech
crew must be given 24 hours advance notice. Cars coming from further
than Kitimat will receive their bonus points as long as they arrive
at the track to be teched prior to 11 am on the first race day
of the season.

Cars
without safety stickers must be in the pits at least 1 hour prior
to time trials so that the car can be inspected. It is up to the
driver of the car to make sure his/her car has been inspected.

Safety
stickers may be revoked upon inspections of the car at any time
during the race season.

All
cars must comply with the specifications as written with regards
to construction.

Any
car involved in an accident must be checked by the tech crew before
it will be allowed back on the track. It is up the driver to make
sure the car had been checked.

Brake
checks will be performed randomly throughout the race season.

The
tech crew has final authority in regards to car construction.
-
No
brazing allowed on any structural part of the car (i.e. Roof must
be welded and not brazed on).
These rules are designed with every good intention, however,
during the race season there may be at times when minor alterations or
clarifications to the rules may be necessary for technical or safety reasons.
